Bobby Leon Chaney passed away in Denton, Texas on Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born in Streetman, Texas to Nathaniel and Zema Chaney on April 30, 1935. Bobby served in the United States Army and later retired from Denton County. Bobby enjoyed working in his yard: he once won Yard of the Month for the City of Denton.  He enjoyed playing with his grandkids, going to football games, taming squirrels, Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.  He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kitsy Maese, and his brother, N.H. Chaney Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Teasley Lane in Denton with a visitation to be held an hour prior to the service. Bobby will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

Bobby is survived by his daughter Kim Bankowski, her husband Brian, grand children Todd Lacroix and wife Alex Lacroix, Emily Goates and her husband Todd Goates, Madeline and Katie Jensen, and 3 great Grandchildren, Liam, Benjamin, and Sadie Goates.
