Bobby Dotson, born on January 3, 1966, at Carswell military base in Fort Worth, Texas, gained his heavenly wings on May 20, 2025, after a long battle with illnesses, surrounded by his wife, family, and friends. Bobby served his country with honor in the army and the National Guard for a total of 14 years.

He married the love of his life, Ruthie Evans, on August 8, 2016, and they shared a beautiful life together until his passing.

Bobby is survived by his beloved wife, Ruthie Dotson of Denton; his daughter, Haily, and son-in-law John Greer, along with grandchildren Emma, JR, Harper, and Brody from Lake Dallas; his daughter, Meriah Knighten, and fiancé, Matt Gardner, and grandchildren Archer and Jasper of Argyle; and his son, Brandon Knighten of Denton. He is also survived by his sister Katheryn and her husband, Tony Ramirez of Denton; his brother Craig Dotson of Denton; nephews Charlie and Jason Dotson of Denton; sister-in-law Melissa Evans of Denton; brother-in-law Zachary Foster of Denton; and his best friends and brothers in arms, Danny Steadham and Mark Beavers, along with his cherished fur baby, Johnny Cash.

Bobby was predeceased by his parents, Sandra and Doyle Dotson, his mother-in-law Millie Foster, and his fur baby June Carter.

A celebration of Bobby's life will be held on Thursday, May 29, at 9am at the national cemetery in Dallas, Texas. Family and friends will meet at DeBerry funeral home at 7 AM for the funeral procession.
