Bobby Gene Thomison

September 30, 1965 — June 7, 2026

Sanger, Tx

Bobby Gene Thomison, a devoted servant leader, beloved family man, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Denton, Texas, surrounded by his close family. Born on September 30, 1965, Bobby’s life was one marked by unwavering loyalty, passionate love, and an infectious spirit that touched everyone he encountered.

Bobby graduated from Denton High School in 1984, setting forth on a journey defined not only by personal achievement but by profound dedication to the people around him. Known for his protector’s heart and quick wit, he was a planner, a jokester, and, above all, a loving presence who sought relationships wherever he went. His fashion sense was as keen as his sense of humor, always sharp and welcoming.

Throughout his life, Bobby embraced many roles with grace and enthusiasm — as a family group and Bible talk leader, he devoted himself as a servant leader in all the churches he attended. His leadership extended across numerous ministries including singles, campus, children’s, and marriage ministries. He taught ushers about timing and protocol, coached youth football with care and dedication, and worked as a trainer at Olive Garden as well as a truck driver. Yet, his proudest accomplishment was his family, whom he loved deeply and cared for fiercely.

Bobby’s heart was as expansive as his interests. He delighted in taking care of people, coaching youth football on form and technique, and spending time surrounded by the sounds of 80’s music and the flicker of movies. Friends and family were his true joy, and he had a unique gift for showing up exactly when he was needed. Known as the unofficial welcoming committee wherever he went, his ability to calm and connect made him a beloved figure in every circle.

Those closest to Bobby remember him for his courage in facing difficult conversations and uncomfortable circumstances without hesitation or fear. He was never afraid to speak his truth, always willing to listen, and consistently present for everyone who crossed his path. His acts of kindness were countless, including the humble gesture of always providing water to the homeless, exemplifying the compassion that defined his soul.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Christine Thomison; his sons, Anthony, Canyon, and Case Thomison; and his stepson, Andrew Flieg, along with Andrew’s wife Candice and their children Lukas, Brooks, and Davis. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Don Chase Thomison, and Don’s family—Jeremy, Chaney Bedford (Clay), and Christopher; his sister, Kelly Clary, along with Kelly's husband Michael (Mike) and their son Michael; as well as his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Flieg, numerous extended family members, and an abundance of dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don L. Thomison; mother, Angela A. Thomison; and father-in-law, Herbert A. Flieg Jr.
