Obituary

Bobbye (Roberta) Laughlin departed this life on March 1, 2016. She was a resident of Lake Forest Village, Good Samaritan Denton, Texas, having previously lived in Arlington, Fort Worth, Stephenville and Morgan Mill Texas.

Bobbye Laughlin was born October 21, 1920 in Mingus, Texas to Robert L. (Bob) Gurgainous and wife Stella Brannon Gurgainous, both of whom preceded her in death. Bobbye graduated from Huckabay High School in Erath County and attended college at Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

On February 10, 1940 she was married to Carl Glen Laughlin of Morgan Mill. They were married for 56 years until his death in 1996. They were the parents of two beloved daughters, grandparents of two grandsons and great grandparents of four great granddaughters and one great grandson.

Bobbye was a member of the Baptist Church. She had put her faith in the Lord, her Savior many years ago and trusted her care to him.

Beginning in the late sixties, she became an avid traveler and traveled to all of the major countries of the world and a lot of the third world countries. Many of the countries she had visited became her favorites and she returned to those countries several times along with all 50 of the Untied States.

We have been blessed to have her here with us for 95 productive and active years. We give her over to our Heavenly Father for rest and peace, in sadness for our loss, but in joy that she no longer suffers in her earthly body.

She is survived by daughter, Jean Carol Turner of Santa Rosa, California, daughter Rita Ballow and husband Pat Ballow of Denton, Texas, grandson Jeff Ballow and wife Alice of Manfield, Texas, grandson Brent Ballow and wife Cristie Ballow of Flower Mound, Texas, great granddaughters, Chelsea Ballow of Denver, Colorado, and Brianna Ballow of Mansfield, Texas, Madison Ballow and Brynley Ballow of Flower Mound, Texas and great grandson, Christopher Ballow of Flower Mound, Texas.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law Daisy Young and brother-in-law Luther L. Laughlin and wife Deniece Laughlin all of Fort Worth, Texas and various cousins, nieces and nephews in law and friends.
