Brenda Joyce Carter, 79, of Justin, passed peacefully on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024. Born on July 31, 1944, in rural Denton County to Gilmer and Essie Sexton Williams, Brenda's life was a testament to love and devotion. In 1966, she married the love of her life, Coy Carter, and together they built a life filled with cherished memories.

After completing her education at Slidell High School in 1962, Brenda dedicated herself to serving the local community and excelled as a customer service representative for numerous years. Alongside her professional commitments, she raised three children, wholeheartedly devoting herself to their well-being. Brenda was known for her strong work ethic, unwavering loyalty as a friend, and skills as a nurturing mother. Her fondest moments consistently revolved around her cherished times with her beloved family and close friends.

Brenda's legacy lives on through her family. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Mitchell and husband Bill of Justin, son Ty Carter and wife Traci of Montague, and daughter Christy Carter of Denton. Her grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell and wife Leslie of Justin, Travis Mitchell and wife Chessie of Justin, Jordan Stout and husband Justin of Denton, Aaron Watson of Montague, and Tyler Carter and girlfriend Adrian Simmons of Fort Worth. Great-grandchildren McKenna Mitchell, Aubree Mitchell, Callaway Mitchell, McKray Mitchell of Justin, and Emmie Carter of Fort Worth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers, Arthur and Joe Williams.

On Sunday, June 9th, the family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX. A graveside will be held at Eakins Cemetery in Ponder, Texas, on Monday, June 10th, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jamie McClain officiating.
