Obituary

Bryan Eugene Evans, 53, passed away on September 23, 2014 at his home, in Denton, Texas. He became Bryan Eugene Evans, Sr. upon the birth of his son Bryan, Jr, who predeceased him, but he was better known as "Pop or Papa" to his girls. He was born on March 1, 1961, in Tacoma, Washington, to Don Eugene Evans and Jeanette Louise Oliver.
Bryan grew up in Wills Point, Texas. He achieved the rank of Life Scout and completed his Eagle project as a Boy Scout. He graduated from Wills Point High School in Wills Point, Texas in 1980. After high school he:
• served a mission 1980-82 for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the California Fresno Mission
• attended Henderson County Junior College in Athens, Texas, and BYU-Idaho in Rexberg, Idaho.
• joined the United States Army 1987 and server for 4 years. He served during the Desert Storm and was the recipient of Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Achievement Medal (Second Oak Leaf Cluster), Expert With Rifle and Grenade Bars. He was discharged in 1991 achieving the rank of Corporal.
• began work for Safety Kleen where he worked for 17 years.

Bryan married for time and all eternity Robbie Lynne Aoyama in 1985 in the Dallas Texas Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Dallas, Texas. They were happily married for 28 years. Bryan was a member of the Denton 4th Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed his callings in church, fishing with his wife and building and painting model airplanes. He loved serving his Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ by living a Christ-like life serving his fellowmen.

Bryan was preceded in death by his father Don Eugene Evans (2007) and son, Bryan Eugene Evans, Jr (1997).

Bryan is survived by his spouse Robbie Lynne of Denton, TX, his daughters Toni Nicole Evans of Denton TX, Raeah Cornelia (Peter) Stephenson of Crossroads, TX, and Robbie Delight (Timothy) Pumphrey of Denton; his mother Walta Edwina Lefler Evans of Denton , TX; his brothers Stanley Charles (Suzanne) Evans of Denton, TX, Bradley Allen (Angela) Evans of DeQuincy, LA , Richard Wayne (Toni) Evans of Lewisville, TX; his grandchildren Sarah Ayanna and Tatsu Bry Stephenson and Don Alton Pumphrey; and his nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints [3900 Old North Rd., Denton, TX, 76209 at 1:00 PM, September 27, 2014. A visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home, 2025 West University, Denton, Texas 76201 at 7-8 PM Thursday, September 25, 2014. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
