Bandy, Jr.

Carl A. Bandy, Jr., 76 of Denton passed away on June 25, 2020 in Denton. He was born in Desoto, Illinois to Carl and Daisy (Cashion) Bandy.
Carl joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17 in 1960. From 1961 – 1964 he was attached to the 2 nd Missile Battalion, 56 th Artillery during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October1962.
While serving in Korea at the Joint Security Area, his unit was involved in the return of the crew of the USS Pueblo, in December 1968.
Carl's military career led him to join the Military Police and ultimately finish his career as a Chief Warrant Officer III, Criminal Investigator within the Criminal Investigation Division of the U.S Army. Carl retired from the Army in 1982.
During his time in the military, Carl was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 3 Good Conduct Medals, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal.
Carl served at a number of posts within the United States, Germany, Thailand, Korea and Japan, but always considered Arizona home.
He married the love of his life Paige Harrington of Benson, Arizona in November 1964. His daughter, Melody was born at Ft. Huachuaca, Arizona in 1965.
He is survived by his daughter, Melody Wood and her husband, Dennis of Denton, sister, Irma Maquet and brother, Delbert Bandy and wife, Dorie.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paige Bandy, his mother and father and sister, Patricia Morelli and Joyce Beimfort.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 18 th , in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to The Wounded Warriors Program at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
