Obituary

Carl Thomas (Tom) Eiland entered this world on June 18, 1952 in Gainesville, FL. He was the oldest of six siblings born to Carl Trainer and Sharon (Susie) Virginia Sapp Eiland. He departed on his biggest fishing trip ever on August 3, 2025.

Tom graduated Bradford High School in Starke, FL in 1970. He soon joined the US Air Force where he was given the opportunity to travel to Germany, Holland, England, Spain, and Austria before being stationed back in the states at Mountain Home Air Force base in Idaho. This is where he met his future wife, Robin on a blind date in 1974. In 1975 after leaving the Air Force, Tom started his HVAC/Refrigeration training under the GI Bill in Des Moines, Iowa. Tom and Robin were married February 14, 1976 in Humeston, Iowa. They began their married life in Ankeny, Iowa but after the second winter he was heard to say vehemently it was "Too cold for a southern boy!". They packed up in the spring of 1977 and moved back to his home area of Gainesville, FL where he continued to work HVAC.

In 1981 he accepted a transfer with AirTron AC to Dallas, Texas. Hating the big city, Tom found a position with CBS Mechanical in Denton, TX. In 1984 Tom started his own HVAC company, Aire-Masters Mechanical Inc. In 1987 he moved the family and company to Krum, TX where he and Robin built their forever home. Aire-Masters celebrated 41 years in business in 2025. Tom was still cracking jokes and running service calls until his illness in June of this year. Tom was proud to be able to say he had customers who had been with him nearly 40 years.

Tom's lasting legacy is his wicked sense of humor, work ethic, tenacity, strength, and perseverance in the face of unbelievable challenges, along with his loyalty to and pride in his family. A distant second to his family, Tom's next greatest passion was his boat and fishing! His work truck stated "We Fish Weekends" and his other motto was "Eat,Sleep,Fish". He fished with several bass clubs over the years with the latest being the Senior Anglers Club. The lifelong friendships forged through fishing, hunting, his business, and customers were beyond special. Tom was always ready and willing to help no matter the time or day.

Tom is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Robin of Krum, TX. Daughter: Tricia Boyd of Humeston, Iowa. Grandchildren: Greysonn Boyd Eiland and wife Amy of Flint, TX. Zarred Butler and husband Holden of Cibolo, TX. Daughter: Amber Whitsett and husband Andrew of Little Elm, TX. Grandchildren Callum and Edison (Edie) Whitsett of Little Elm, TX. He was so very proud to say he had 3 Great Granddaughters: Kaylee and Ruth Eiland of Flint TX and Haven Butler, Cibolo, TX. Father: Carl T. Eiland of Lawtey, FL. Brothers: David Eiland and wife Kathy of Sampson City, FL. Timmy Eiland of Jacksonville, FL. Sisters: Sissie Eiland of Lawtey, FL, Karen Stidham of Charlotte, NC, Toi Eiland of Lake Butler, FL. If you were a friend of Tom's you know how he loved to joke and prank someone so when you remember him do so with a story, a joke and make someone laugh. He delighted in all of the above!

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, if you're able to, please take someone fishing!
