Carl F. Pugliese Jr. (Butch), 67, of Ponder, Texas, passed away suddenly on June 3rd, 2020. Born on June 1st, 1953 in Stamford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Carl F. Pugliese Sr. and the late Marie Possidento Pugliese. Carl attended Stamford Catholic High School. From there, he became involved in the trucking industry.

He was an independent trucker and was well known throughout the country for over 30 years. He had a passion for quarter-mile drag racing, where he went on to become well known with super stock cars, motorcycles, and ended up racing the Big Rigs at the U.S Diesel Nationals, winning the championship in 1975.

Carl moved to Denton, Texas in 2003 with his family. He had a desire to help people. He created Carl's Handyman to assist homeowners with projects in 2010, and touched many lives throughout the DFW area. He had a larger than life personality, an infectious smile and a
compassionate spirit. He was well known for his hugs and warm greetings at Eaglepointe Church, and of course his signature mustache.

Carl is survived by his daughter Danielle Pugliese Johns and her husband Seth. His former spouse, Joy Mason Pugliese, brother Gary Pugliese and his wife Dana, sister Carol Pugliese and sister Michele Pugliese Zoppi, and her husband John and sister Karen Gorman. Additionally, he is survived by his 5 grandchildren who he adored, and several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his companion Gay Roder.
