Carl L. Robertson, 86, of Justin, Texas passed away on May 17, 2014 in Denton, Texas.
He was born on June 6, 1927 in Blytheville, Arkansas to John "Jack" and Tassie Mai (Moore) Robertson.
Mr. Robertson served in the US Army during World War II, Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Mr. Robertson was awarded the Bronze Star while serving during the Korean War. Mr. Robertson reached the Rank of 1st Lieutenant during his service and retired from the US Army in 1968.
Mr. Robertson married Betty Jane "Peg" Holbert on March 27, 1959 in Houston, Texas. He attended Arkansas State College of Jonesboro, The University of Houston, Stephen F. Austin University and Southern Methodist University, Perkins School of Theology. Mr. Robertson was the Minister of The Stony United Methodist Church in Stony, Texas.
Mr. Robertson is survived by three Daughters; Margaret Esterer of Ponder, Texas, Mary Lawhorn of Shepherdsville, Ky. and Melanie Gearhart of Denton, Texas. Two brothers; Joe T. Robertson of Corinth, Mississippi and Robert Robertson of Reno, Nevada; one Sister, Tommie Mohin of Memphis, Tennessee; four Grandchildren, Aaron Esterer, Katelynn Esterer, Alexandra Gearhart and Samantha Lawhorn and two Great –Grandchild, Haylee Esterer, and Channing Darr.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, wife, Betty Jane "Peg" Holbert Robertson; Sisters, Captola Robertson, Gladys Hammock, Emma Jane Riley, Dorothy Blacketer, Mary Gaines, Marjorie Poff and Kathryn Moore; Brothers, James, Jack, Charles, Harold and Billy Robertson.
A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Ponder, Texas with the Reverend Kim Broadstreet officiating on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
