Obituary

Carol Sue Harper,75, of Sanger, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020 in Sanger, TX. She was born in Findlay, Ohio on September 17, 1945 to Frieda (Moore) Laney and George Laney.

Carol spent a good deal of her youth and young adult life living in Indiana, where she married her husband, gave birth to her two daughters and was a full-time homemaker.  In 1979, she and her family moved to Sanger, Texas where she lived until her passing.

In Sanger, Carol became an active member of the community particularly as it came to things that pertained to her daughters.  She worked as a secretary at Sanger Middle School for many years and volunteered for activities such as 4-H, being the cheerleading sponsor, and commissioning the local baseball/softball program.

After her daughters were grown, Carol became a flight attendant, allowing her to pursue her life-long dream of traveling.  She was based in New York for a time and loved the many opportunities to see new places.  She then moved into the offices at American Eagle where she became a leader in the flight attendant union, working tirelessly to help protect the rights of her fellow flight attendants.

After many years in the airline industry, Carol retired but later decided that retired life did not suit her.  She began work at Winstar Casino where she thoroughly enjoyed her co-workers and the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of new people.

Always a very social person, Carol delighted in the opportunity to visit with people.  She truly never knew a stranger and was marked by a very generous spirit.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Christine McGarraugh and husband Cody of Perryton, Texas and Ellen Mossberg and her husband, Dave of Southlake, Texas. Her grandchildren, Chloe McGarraugh, Austin Mossberg, Henry Mossberg, Joey Mossberg and Tommy Mossberg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David H Harper, grandson, Cole McGarraugh and her mother and father.
