Carolyn Joyce Akins,81, passed away peacefully at a local hospital in Denton Texas with her daughter by her side.

Carolyn was born on September 25, 1944 in Bridgeport, Texas, to Tomboy and Marie Brown. She grew up in Bridgeport and graduated from Bridgeport High School. After High School, Carolyn moved to Denton with friends, where she met the love of her life, Dennis Akins. The two were married on September 19, 1964, and shared many wonderful years until his passing.

Carolyn had a kind and gentle spirit and found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family and reading a good book. She cherished every moment with those she loved most.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dennis, her beloved Son Dennis Jr., her brothers Jim, Gary, Rusty, and Mike, and her sister and best friend Cherry Steagall.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Cindy Beavers, and husband, Kevin, granddaughter, Sarah Beavers, grandson, Mitchel Beavers, brother Tommy Brown, sisters Barbara McDaniel and Rayanne Gentry, and many beloved nieces and nephews who will cherish their Aunt Tiny's memory always.

Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and deep love she had for her family. Her gentle presence, caring heart, and the laughter she shared with those around her will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, 11:00 AM, October 13, 2025,  at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton Texas. Josh Gentry will officiate.
