IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carolyn Ruth
Vaughn
July 17, 1951 – February 3, 2023
Carolyn Ruth Henderson Vaughn was born July 17, 1951, in Hobbs New Mexico to Donald Lee Henderson and Doris Jean Henderson. The daughter of an oil engineer attorney father and school teacher mother, Carolyn was raised in the central southwest, including Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. She attended high school in Oklahoma City and graduated from
Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Business. She continued her retail marketing career in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she met Henry "Buzz" Vaughn. Together they shared a 48-year marriage full of love and laughter and raised five children.
Called "Nana" by her adored grandchildren, Carolyn will be remembered for her quick wit, her contagious smile, and her adventurous spirit. She was a member of Green Valley Baptist
Church and a proud Citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
She is survived by her husband, Buzz, and children, Buddy (Amanda) Vaughn, Julie (Bradford) Felder, Justin Vaughn, Katie (Chris) Happ, and Eric Vaughn. She was a devoted grandmother to

sister, Kay (Jim) Duncan. Her parents and her precious granddaughter, Brianna Vaughn, predeceased her.
Carolyn leaves us with joyful memories of her kindness, generosity, and unending love of family. Celebration of Life Service will be held at Green Valley Baptist Church.
