Carpis Radcliff was born in Vrendenburgh, Alabama, October 11th 1937. He was the eldest of eight children born to Alexander Radcliff Sr. and Annie (King) Radcliff. He departed this life on December 8th 2023.
Carpis graduated valedictorian of his class at Rosa A. Lott High School in Citronelle, Alabama and at the age of 22 joined the United States Air Force. During his military career he worked in the Airborne Communications Systems serving as a supervisor and then as a superintendent of aircrews on the EC135 and the E4B (Looking Glass). Master Sergeant Radcliff retired after 27 years of distinguished Military Service. He then began a 28 year career with the Department of Homeland Security in FEMA's Mobile Emergency Response Support (MERS) Detachment as a Telecommunication Specialist – RF.
Carpis Radcliff was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved music, fishing, and golf. He was respected for his work ethic and appreciated for his cooking, especially his BBQ ribs. Carpis played guitar and sang with his family in church and later performed with various bands. His patience, sense of humor, smile and sage advice will be missed by many friends and family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers George Radcliff, Bobby Radcliff Sr., Alexander Radcliff Jr., and sister Edna Radcliff Brown.
Carpis leaves behind to cherish many beautiful memories his devoted wife Margaret Radcliff; beloved sisters Mary Jane Mills, Lucinda (Willie) Dees and Levetta (Marline) Johnson; children Dewayne Barnes (Beverly), Darren Radcliff (Angela), and daughter Tara Radcliff; grandchildren Brittany Barnes, Eglasia Barnes, Charneka Barnes, Darren Radcliff Jr., Marisa Radcliff, and Jacob Radcliff; great grandchildren Elise Barnes, Paris Barnes, and Everly Barnes.
