Catherine Ruth Heard Cox, 86, of Corinth passed away on July 25, 2022 in Denton, Texas. She was born in New London, CT. on November 18, 1935.

In her teens, as a Catholic, she aspired to become a nun or a nurse.  She went on to study nursing at TWU where she joined a local Baptist church.  Soon after, her religion changed as well as her major. She then met the love of her life, Tom and they married in Denton on May 20, 1959 and both received degrees from UNT. They moved to Crane in West Texas where he was a high school teacher and they had their first son.

Later they moved to Tyler where she taught Art at Tyler Junior College and had two more sons. The family moved to Austin in 1968. Cathy taught dog obedience classes and bridge among other things. In 1981 they opened an art and picture framing gallery where she also taught watercolors, acrylics and oils. In 1987 they moved to the Dallas metroplex where she lived out her days.

While raising their three boys, she earned her Master's Degree in Art. She felt that God called her to be a teacher.  A vocation she never desired, but later became her passion. Cathy loved teaching others, studying the bible and sharing the love of Jesus.  Most of her adult life she was teaching various levels of Sunday school ending with her beloved senior adult classes. Cathy's life has now come full circle resting in the city where her marriage began May 20, 1959. Her body is buried on earth but her soul is now in the loving hands of her eternal Father in Heaven. Her heart's desire is for everyone to know the love of Jesus Christ.
