Catherine Maydel Grandfield, 92, of Denton, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. She was born on January 3, 1920 in Decatur, IL to Delmer Adams and Georgia May Glazebrook. She married James Hughbert Grandfield on October 6, 1940, who has preceded her in death in 2009. She was a civil servant working for the U.S. Navy during World War II. She attended Gribble Springs Baptist Church and was a member of Fridays Friends at the Denton Senior Citizen Center.

A memorial service will be held at the Gribble Springs Baptist Church on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at 1:00PM.

Catherine is survived by her son, James D. Grandfield and wife Stella; sister, Caroline E. Williams; 8 grandchildren, Tracy D. Grandfield, Terri L. Harrell, Toni L. Jones, Trista D. Martin, Jami S. Barbour, James M. Grandfield, Georgia M. Martin (deceased), and Shawn M. Roof; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son; daughter, Mary Roberta Grandfield; and brother, Raymond C. Adams.
