Catherine Gentry Mitchell, born on May 26, 1930, in Denton, TX, passed away peacefully September 27, 2024. She was a life-long member and deacon of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Catherine was a beacon of love and kindness, and her legacy will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Willis Henry Mitchell Jr. Together, they built a life filled with love and devotion. She was a loving mother to her children: Rebecca Sikes (Glenn), Reca Oliver (A.W.), Catherine Louise Smith (Bill), and Willis Henry (Trace) Mitchell III (Gigi). Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren: Heather, Ken, April, Kevin, Farah, Evan, Christina, and Catherine, and her great-grandchildren: Taylor, Samantha, Hannah, Charlie, Owen, Grace, Penelope, Ellie, Payton, Mason, Sophie, William, Camryn, Avery, Christopher, Charlotte, and Claire.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Willis H. Mitchell, Jr, her parents, J.D. and Irene Gentry, her 3 sisters and 4 brothers, and her great-granddaughter, Madeline.

Catherine's love was pure and unconditional, and she was loved by all who knew her. Her faith in God and dedication to her church were unwavering, and she found great joy in serving her community. Those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her presence will continue to be inspired by her legacy of love and compassion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to guide and comfort them.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 3:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church.  The service will be streamed live at www.standrewdenton.com .
