IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Catheryne Fern
Davidson
November 13, 1926 – January 2, 2018
Catheryne Fern (Chisum) Davidson died in her home of natural causes at the age of 91. She was married for 73 years to Rev. Albert Edward Davidson from August 13, 1944 until his death last January, 2017.
Catheryne is survived by four children, eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. She resided in Krum, Texas for the past several years, being cared for by her daughter, Zane Davidson. Catheryne and Albert Davidson's children are Donovan Davidson, Zane Davidson, Timothy Davidson and Jeanne Hathaway. Her grandchildren are Phillip McCulley; Julie Hathaway; Jan Williams; Heather Hilleman; Culley Lichtenberg; Ann Byron Guditis; Zachary Davidson; and Corey Davidson. Her great grandchildren are Bobby and Tyler Hilleman; Savannah and Penn Lichtenberg; and Whitley and Noah Guditis. Catheryne was the last surviving sibling of five children of Jesse Britton Chisum and Jimmy Effie (Culley) Chisum.
In addition to raising her children and being actively involved in her grandchildren's lives, Catheryne worked outside of the home in various professional settings but primarily served as a pastor's wife in different Southern Baptist churches in Kansas at Arkansas City (1946-1951); Stockton (1951-1953); and Parsons (1953-1962); and in Missouri, at Joplin (1962-1972) and Belle (1972-1977); and in Florida at Ocala (1978-1985).
Catheryne died peacefully, having been bedfast for many months in the past year. Her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members, and friends gathered around her throughout the past year, bringing joy to her heart as they all embraced her with love. When she could speak, she spoke lovingly of reuniting with her husband and other family members who had already passed on into God's embrace. In her final days, Catheryne's last fleeting, conscious, interaction with her family came through a smile as she was told a new great grand baby was on the way.
One of her favorite scriptures was Romans 15:13. "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the New Life First Baptist Church of Krum. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum.
