IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlene Iva
Williams
May 30, 1939 – May 10, 2024
Charlene Williams, surrounded by family, was peacefully called from her earthly home in Argyle, Texas, to her eternal home in Heaven on May 10, 2024. Charlene was born in Dongola, Arkansas on May 30, 1939, to Coy and Iva (Daniel) Bryan.
Charlene raised her sons in Delavan, Illinois, and when they were grown, she moved to Lincoln, IL.
In 1983, Charlene married Roger Williams of Lincoln, Illinois. Roger was the love of her life, and they enjoyed many years together before he passed away in July 2000.
Charlene worked at the Lehn & Fink factory from 1963 to 1995, where she was recognized many times with awards for her excellence in production, her impeccable attendance and company loyalty. It was her first and only job, and her hard work paid off. She was very fortunate to be offered early retirement at the young age of 56.
In 2000, Charlene re-dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, and joined First Baptist Church of Lincoln, Illinois. She was lovingly discipled and baptized by Pastor Robert Henderson. She cherished her friendship with Pastor Robert and his family and grew strong in her faith under their leadership.
Charlene faithfully served the Lord, and her church family in many areas: Youth ministry, "Women of Faith" women's ministry, funeral ministry and Senior's ministry. Charlene was so proud of her church home and worked cheerfully to keep it looking beautiful. From cleaning the kitchen, straightening up the sanctuary and planting flowers out front; she longed to make it a place that God would be honored, and everyone feel loved and welcomed!
Charlene enjoyed gardening, cooking, planting flowers, playing cards and gathering with family & friends. She was so generous with all God had gifted her and loved to share it with those she loved!
She was preceded in death by her parents (Coy & Iva Bryan), her husband (Roger Williams), her brother (Clifton Bryan), youngest son (Jeffery Horton) and stepson (Gregory Williams).
She is survived by her oldest son, Randy Horton, and his wife Traci of Argyle, Texas; two stepsons: Jeff Williams of Az. and Daniel Williams of Lincoln, IL; two cherished like "sons": Todd (Jodi) Horton of Fort Worth, Tx., Eric Horton of Conway, Ar. grandchildren: Natalie (Ed) Eaton of Fort Worth, Tx, Blaze (Kassie) Horton of Chatham, IL, Keifer (Morgan) Horton of Grapevine, Tx., Payton (Preston) Hancock of Northlake, Tx., Austin (Jody) Horton of Fort Worth, Tx. and Matthew Horton of Fort Worth, Tx.; six great grandchildren: Kinley, Jett, Davy, Brynlee, Beau and Nathan.
Other survivors include many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at Bill DeBerry Funeral Home (2025 W. University Drive Denton, Tx.) Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 2 p.m.
