Charles "Andy" Vaughn, 68, a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and lifelong resident of Denton, passed away Sunday at his home.

Andy graduated from the University of North Texas and served as a submariner during the Vietnam War. He worked at the University of North Texas and later as a FEMA flood inspector helping victims of Hurricanes Katrina and many others recover after the storms.

Andy was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years, Brenda Frost Vaughn. Andy is survived by his son Tom and his wife Mitzi, his grandson Noah and his sister Carol Vaughn Stoner.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas.
