IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles David
Barnett Jr.
November 5, 1953 – February 2, 2022
Charles David Barnett lifelong Denton resident passed away February 3, 2022. Known to friends and family by his middle name, David was born November 5, 1953. He attended Denton High School and served his country in the Navy. Throughout his life, David had a penchant for thrifting and flipping a variety of items and antiques. He had a knack for knowing what would sale and the worth of the items. He was successful with this practice for many years making a living with his expertise. David was a committed follower of Jesus and kept prayer journals that recorded prayers for himself, family, friends, nations, presidents and random people that came across his path. It is in these journals, that we see what a gifted writer he was and how it was a gift kept privately. David was always willing to talk about the Lord and pray for others. In his last years, David struggled with mental health issues that robbed him of the joys that he loved in his life. Although he struggled, he still kept a strong faith in God.
His father, Charles Barnett, and his sister, Brenda Sue Collins, preceded David in death. David leaves behind his mother and best friend, Gerry Barnett and his sister, Nova Barnett as wells as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mentioned heavily in his journals is Psalm 12:7-9, "We do not fear bad news or live in dread of what may happen. We are settled in our minds that Jehovah will take care of us."
