Charles "Weldon" Chumbley, 82, of Little Elm passed away on May 1, 2014 in Denton, Texas. Weldon was born on December 30, 1931 in Frisco, Texas to George and Nannie Chumbley.

Weldon attended Little Elm and Frisco Public Schools and was a Koren War Veteran, serving in the US Army and the US Navy. He married Brenda Hayes in Frisco, Texas on May 13, 1965. He worked for Little Elm Public Schools and was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church and The American Legion.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; a daughter, Laura Ellis, son, Johnny Chumbley, Sssters, Margie Ward and Charlotte McCauley and brother, Kenneth Chumbley.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Chumbley;sons, Jerry Lee Chumbley and wife, Candace of Boonville, Mo. and Richard Chumbley of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters, Diane Nichols and husband, Paul of Garland, Texas and Teresa Emmons of Little elm, Texas. He had eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Living Word Baptist Church located at 2315 W. FM 720, Little Elm, Texas from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Living Word Baptist Church with interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas.
