Charles Vaughn Dansby, 85, of Denton passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 20, 2018. He was born in Gatesville, Texas on January 9, 1933 to Cullen and Dora (Poston) Dansby.

He graduated from Valley Mills High School and The University of Texas with a degree in Engineering. He married Betty Howard in Valley Mills, Texas on November 22, 1950. He was the Chief of Technical Branch for FEMA before his retirement. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Asbury Food Bank and other committees at the church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Dansby of Denton, daughters, Debbie Rhodes of Ft. Worth, Kay Scott and her husband Bob of Arlington, Texas, son Pat Dansby and his wife, Bridget of Denton, 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Cullen Dansby and son, Robert Dansby

Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Buster Noah officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
