Obituary

Charles (CE, Charlie, Shorty) Edward Hitchcock, age 76, of Argyle, Texas passed away Friday morning October 18th, 2013 at his home surrounded by his wife and children.

Charles was born on July 20, 1937 in Dallas, Texas. He was the son of the late Edward Frank Hitchcock and Mattie Lee Fields Hitchcock.

Charles was the owner of Hitchcock House movers, a family business started by his father in 1944. He moved many historical structures, houses, buildings and mobile homes around the Dallas area. "Daddy is gone to move houses in heaven. He was a hard working man who spent his entire life dedicated to the needs of his family and those he loved." He was a man of God, a loving husband and a devoted father.

Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Walker Hitchcock and his daughter, Debra Kae Lindley and his two sons, Tim and wife Tammy Hitchcock, Mark and wife Kim Hitchcock; thirteen grandchildren, Amber, Allison, Aubrie, Wesley, Madison, Taylor, Paisley, Abbie, Haley, Emily, Delaney, Linsey and Ryan; one great grandchild, Kaylynn, his sister, Charlotte and husband Charles Bussey, and many other loving nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Celebration of life and memorial services for Charles will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26th at the Argyle Church of Christ on FM 407 in Argyle, Texas. Long time friend and pastor, Steve Small, is officiating. Burial will follow at Graham/Argyle Cemetery in Argyle, Texas.

Friends may visit with the family Friday evening, October 25th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
