Charles "Fuzzy" Joseph Trussell III, loving husband of Carolyn Trussell, age 73 of Denton, TX passed away Sunday, September 10 ,2023 at Golden Meadows Assisted Living.
Charles was born to Charles Jr. and Wanda Trussell in Spokane, WA on December 23, 1949, shortly after his birth his family relocated to GA. Charles was a man of many interests and talents including auto mechanics and wood working. Some of his handiwork is displayed in the family home. During his working years he worked as an auto mechanic and went on to teach auto mechanics in the Georgia prison system. He also spent years as an over-the-road truck drive and sheriff's deputy. His famous Pilot coffee cup started a treasured friendship with a Whataburger group from Tyler, TX.
Charles is preceded in death by his father Charles Trussell Jr, his grandparents and one aunt, Nina Curl.
Charles is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home, her sons: Aaron (Shannon) Matthews and James (Amy) Matthews and his stepson Henry (Monica) Hardee. Grandchildren Katie, Lee (Karlie) Hannah, Stormi, LeAnne and Ethan Matthews; Sarah and Jake Shafer and Anna, Preston, Ella Hardee. Two great-grandchildren Ryker and Shiloh Matthews; one aunt, Polly Fields, a dearly-loved, sister-in-law, Jimmie Lyle and numerous cousins and a host of fabulous friends from Georgia, Tyler and Denton, Texas.
The family wishes to thank Solaris Hospice and Golden Meadows for the wonderful care they provided Charles during his final days of life. Marian and her amazing group of ladies at Golden Meadows cared for Charles in such compassionate ways, going far beyond normal caregiver duties; they became family to us.
