Charlie Marie Blankenship Goss, 85, of Denton, Texas died April 5, 2015. She was born August 10, 1929 in Denton on Bryan Ave to Alton Melton Blankenship and Cleta Mae Cockrell Blankenship. On November 29, 1949, she married Harry Vaughn Goss at First Baptist Church Denton on Oak Street. He preceded her in death September 16, 2005.
Mrs. Goss graduated from Denton High School in 1946 and from North Texas State Teachers College on August 25, 1949. She was a sister of the Kappa Theta Pi sorority and received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with minors in Home Economics and English. Mrs. Goss taught P.E. at L O'Donnell in Dallas and was the Librarian at Wiesbrook Elementary School in Wheaton, IL for 17 years. Harry and Charlie retired to Searcy, Arkansas in 1984 and then returned to Denton in 1991 to help care for her loving parents and grandchildren.
Charlie Marie was an active member at First Baptist Church, furthering God's kingdom wherever He asked her to serve.
She was an active member in Garden Culture Club of Denton, serving as president in 1993-1995, 2003-2005, and a District 2 Texas Garden Club Inc. Life member. "She never met a plant that she didn't like."
Funeral Services for Mrs. Goss will be Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at DeBerry Funeral Home. Burial will take place immediately after the service at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Randy Goss, and wife Debi; her daughter, Betsy, and husband Kelly Bender of Denton; Grandchildren Amanda Goss of Denton; Daniel Goss of Little Elm; Jessica Goss of Dallas; Kayla Bender of Dallas; and Bryan Bender of Denton. Mrs. Goss was an only child but has many brothers and sisters in Christ.
