Charlotte Elisabeth Sbarra, of New Bern, N.C., passed away Friday, Oct. 15, 2021. She was born in Long Branch, NJ to William Everts and Elizabeth Congdon on February 28, 1969.

Charlotte was a free spirit and accomplished artist. She sketched beautifully with charcoals and painted landscapes and abstract art, but was most well-known for her vast tie dye designs. Charlotte's t-shirts, children's clothing and sundresses were intricate in design, combining vibrant color palettes. She had a collection of crystals and benefited from their healing properties. Charlotte and her husband, Jim, travelled the country following their passion for The Dead, Phish, and Widespread Panic.

Charlotte is survived by her husband James; mother, Elizabeth Congdon; stepmother, Deborah Everts; sisters Catherine Eska (niece Emily Eska, nephew Eric Eska), Helen Everts (wife Gina Wright), and Maggie Everts (husband Chris Kienzlen, nephews Tyler and Montana Kienzlen); stepbrothers Harold Bond (wife Rose), Gordon Bond (wife Lauren), Billy Congdon (wife Julie), and David Congdon (wife Leslie); mother-in-law Kathleen Sbarra; brother-in-laws Joseph Sbarra (wife Alejandra, nephew Joseph) and Anthony Sbarra (nephew Anthony); sister-in-laws Mary Lou Nichols (husband William, niece Coty) and Monica Fernandez (husband Jim, nephew Sasha Prince, wife Sandra, great niece Anya); and beloved pets Oscar and Kringle.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church on 251 Franklin Street (Route 33), Hightstown, NJ 08520. A reception will follow at East Windsor Firehouse at 51 One Mile Rd., East Windsor, NJ 08520 from 12:00-4:00PM. Tie dye attire is acceptable. Please donate to www.stjude.org in lieu of flowers.
