Cherished oldest brother, friend and son, Chaz Ron Rollins, returned to his Father in Heaven on October 30, due to a single vehicle accident. He was born July 31, 1990, in Afton, Wyoming to Ron and Wendy Rollins. He spent his early years playing and watching basketball (Go Jazz!), and enjoying the outdoors in Utah and Wyoming.
At the age of ten, he was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. After a year of difficult, sometimes heart wrenching treatments, he came out on top and has remained cancer free since.
His family moved from Utah to Kentucky to Tennessee, and finally settled in Texas while he was a teenager. Because of his intelligence and diligence, through all the moves and changes, he achieved excellent grades and graduated from high school with honors.
The love he had for his Savior that he developed as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his desire to share that love with others, moved him to serve a mission. He spent two years endeavoring to exemplify that love in the Ohio Columbus Mission. In the words of former mission companions, "Great guy with an even bigger heart," and "He emanated spiritual strength."
He was a tremendous help to his mother as a Melchizedek priesthood holder in their home and he was looked up to by his younger brothers and sisters. He loved spending time with his siblings and playing basketball with his brothers. He was his brothers' and sisters' biggest fan and they were his as well. He treasured his friendships and was known as a true and faithful friend. He enjoyed attending concerts, especially when his brother Tre` and his band were performing, watching movies, and listening to music. Spontaneous late night dinners and ice cream runs with friends and family alike brought him great enjoyment.
After returning from his mission, he continued to be a positive influence on those around him including the members of his Latter-day Saints YSA ward. It was here he met and began to date a wonderful woman. They had been inseparable the last few weeks as their love for one another grew. With her, he was happier than he had ever been in his life.
At the time of his death, he was pursuing a bachelor's degree in preparation for dental school.
He is survived by his father Ron (Stacey), his siblings, Tre` (girlfriend, Chelsea), Jordan (Delaney), Tehya, Jailin, Ashton & Tehylor, his grandparents Reynold (Susan) Johnson, Ralph and Verna Rollins, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, especially his cherished Megan.
He is joined in death by his mother Wendy and preceded by his grandmother Joy Johnson.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015, with visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the Denton LDS Stake Building, 3000 Old North Road, Denton Texas.
