Obituary

Cherry Lynn Hill passed away in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. She was born in Amarillo, Texas on December 29, 1950, to Joseph Bradshaw and Dorothy Stokes Bradshaw. Cherry enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, picnics with her family, singing church songs, and attending church. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents (David and Laura Stokes), one sister (Shannon Shearer), and brother-in-law (Mark Pearce).

Funeral services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Homes at 2 PM, Saturday, February 25, 2023. Cherry will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas following the service.

Cherry is survived by a daughter and son-in-law (Tammy and Saul Hernandez) of Amarillo, Texas, and a daughter (Tera Evans of Cleburne, Texas). Sister and brother-in-law (Jackey and JP Couch) of Mesquite, Texas, and sister (Kimberly Pearce) of Sanger, Texas. Seven grandkids, 8 great grandkids with one on the way.

Cherry was a miracle of God who wasn't expected to live past one day old. She was born with a defect in her esophagus. The first of many surgeries occurred when she was one day old. She was given less than a 10% chance of survival from the surgery. Through the years she has had more than 300 procedures and surgeries, and each time doctors gave her a small chance of survival. Cherry's survival is proof that God is in control.

Cherry was known for remembering everybody's birthdays, anniversaries, etc. She never failed to send birthday cards, anniversary cards, valentines day cards, easter cards, Mother's and Father's Day cards, Christmas cards, and thinking of you cards every year. Cherry kept the Hallmark Card Company in business.

Cherry was the oldest of 4 sisters. They were named by their mother as idiot daughter #1, idiot daughter #2, idiot daughter #3, and idiot daughter #4. The family was known for its sense of humor.

Cherry's thoughtfulness, love, compassion, smile, and cards will be dearly missed. She will always be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

We love you Cherry (Idiot #1).
