Christa (Chris) Marie Gerbis of Argyle, Texas passed away on December 26, 2019 at the age of 76.  She was the oldest of three children born to Paulina Kaliberda Vasojević. Christa was born on December 12, 1943 in Germany and emigrated to the United States through Ellis Island on September 5, 1951.

Chris grew up in East Chicago, Indiana where she graduated from Roosevelt High school in 1963.  She was a member of the St. George Eastern Orthodox Church choir, and the high school orchestra as a viola player.

In 1962 Chris married Michael Gerbis and moved to Dyer, Indiana where she would have two children and eventually find her entrepreneurially streak. She opened a preschool in the basement in her home and would eventually grow into and own one of the best preschools/daycare centers in the state of Indiana.

After her divorce in 1981, Chris moved her family out to SouthernCalifornia to pursue a new life with her life partner, William (Bill) Holman.  They settled in Rancho Bernardo, where Chris enjoyed a successful career in Interior Decorating.  When she wasn't working, Chris and Bill enjoyed traveling together, entertaining, and spending time with friends and family.  Chris moved with her daughter's family to Argyle, Texas in the summer of 2017. Chris will always be remembered for her keen eye, her quick wit, her strong work ethic, and for always being there for those who needed her.

Chris is survived by her son, Donald Gerbis of Gilbert, AZ; daughter Krista Michelle Madigan and her husband Jim of Argyle, TX; grandsons Nealon Patrick and Kennon Joseph; granddaughter Ashley Marie; sister Olga Trammel and her husband Kent of Spring, TX and many other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved life partner William Holman; her mother Paulina Kaliberda Vasojević; her stepfather Djordje (George) Vasojević; and her brother Rudolph (Rudy) Milosavljević.

Private memorial services will be held by the family.
