Heaven gained another Angel this morning, Christine Simpson, after a long battle with Kidney/Heart Disease, Strokes and then getting Covid 19, She passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Regional Medical Center-VITAS Hospice in Carrollton, Texas. She was born in Kaufman, Texas on August 21,1942 to Eldon and Ruby Gentry.
She was not only a mother, sister, grandmother but also known as Nanny to everyone she met. She had a smile that would light up the room. She dedicated 24 years to Tom Thumb where she was a friend and mentor to many. She was fiesty, fearless, full of adventure and spunk. There was never a dull moment with Nanny. Her love for her immediate and extended family was unconditional. Even though for the last few years after her strokes where she was not able to communicate very well, her love still shined through. For the past 2 years she has resided at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Denton. She enjoyed bingo and cards. What really brightened her spirit was her trips to Winstar Casino.
She will be missed dearly, but not forgotten and will be watching over us all.
Christine is survived by her daughters: Kim and Scott McCormick Sanger, TX--Tina and Bill Stutler Kingston, OK. Grandkids: Amy Hickman(Les), Christy Parsons, Courtney Boerner(Michael), Clayton Simmons(Tiffany), Brittany McCormick. Great Grandkids: Trey Henderson, Payton Stinnett, Kiera and Storme Parsons, Creedon and Pistol Boerner, Harper and Stella Simmons, Kailyn Angel. Sister: Robbie Jo Stout and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and Great Grandson Weston Simmons.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Everyone is welcome to attend as long as we respect social distancing.
