Christy Michele Manning Cates, 33, of Denton passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015. She was born April 22, 1981 in Denton to Mitch Manning and Denise Harpool. She graduated from Denton High School in 1999 and received her nursing degree from Trinity Valley Community College. She was a member of the Open Range Cowboy Church of North Texas. She was a loving mother, daughter and friend.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Open Range Cowboy Church of North Texas, 7290 Hawkeye Rd., Krum, Texas 76249. Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Krum with Rev. John Ritchie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

Christy is survived by her daughters, Gracie Cates of Edgewood, Mayson MacKenna of Denton; son, Cooper Cates of Edgewood, partner, Kody MacKenna of Denton; mother, Denise Harpool and husband Ralph of Forestburg; father, Mitch Manning and wife Lisa of Sanger; step-sister, Lisa Arrington and husband Craig of Aubrey; step-brothers, Mark Harpool and wife Ashley of Pilot Point and Craig Vandever of Sanger; grandparents, Edith Lindley of Denton and Richard and JoAnne Erwin of Denton; step-grandparents, Jack and Lois Walker of Sanger and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Mayson Renee MacKenna c/o Denton Area Teacher Credit Union.
