Cole F. Kivlin, 85, of Argyle, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He was born April 5, 1930 in Asturias, Spain to Manuel Fernandez Rodriguez and Carmen Garcia Suarez. He married Barbara Barnhart on April 22, 1950 in San Antonio. She preceded him in death. He was a technical writer for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis MO
Cole was one of "the lost children" of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930's. He was taken out of the country at the age of 7 and taken to France and other European countries. Ultimately, he "wound up" in America. In his 60's, he returned to Northern Spain and found his family based on his early childhood memories.
A funeral service will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna Russell of Argyle, Terrie Kivlin of Roanoke, Barbara Kivlin of Fort Worth, and Sandy Gardner of St. Robert MO; son, Robert E. Kivlin of Fort Worth; granddaughters, Cameryn Graves, Stacey Presley and Brandie Wheeler; grandsons, Brandon Russell, Jonathan Kivlin, Michael Bow, Parker Bow, Tony Presley and Robert "Bobby" Kivlin. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Denton Animal Support Foundation.
