Connie Dian McDaniel, 68, of Ponder passed away on February 13, 2021 in Denton. She was born on January 24, 1953 in Ft. Worth, Texas to James and Joyce (Meek) Yowell.  Dian married Allen McDaniel on October 2, 1970 in Tom Bean, Texas and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year.  Dian retired January 31, 2018 after 34 years of service at Ponder Independent School District, doing a job that she loved for the kids that she loved.  Dian was known as the craft lady in Ponder, her love for making handmade crafts as gifts is well known to her friends and family.  Her other hobbies included sewing, crocheting, Netflix, watching movies, traveling with her family and reading.  Dian also had a life long love for music, enjoyed going to concerts and watching Dallas Stars games.  Because of her love for children and for the Lord, she taught Sunday school at FBC Ponder for 25 years.  Dian was not selfish with her life, she served the Lord and others through the church faithfully, until her failing health prevented it.

She is survived by her husband, Allen McDaniel of Ponder, daughter, Leah McDaniel of Ponder, son, Scott McDaniel and wife (Carrie) of Ponder, sisters, Beccy Roberts, Nancy Watson, brothers, Jimmy Yowell, Preston Yowell and Daniel Yowell; and grandchildren Kaylee Merritt, Graham McDaniel, Grace McDaniel, Emmrie McDaniel and Sealy Vardell.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Ponder. Funeral Services will be held at the church and will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment will be held at Justin Cemetery in Justin, Texas.
