Curtis Maurice Johnson, 61 passed away on December 20, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born in Denton, Texas on March 16 to H.F. and Bessie Lee Johnson. Maurice grew up in Aubrey, Texas and later moved to Denton and then Archer City, Texas.

He worked for Shell Oil for 26 years and also the Choctaw Nation. He enjoyed Christmas, model trains, and music. He loved to play the accordion and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He learned to play music there alongside his parents.  Maurice was a kind person and a friend to all.

He is preceded in death by his parents, H.F. Johnson and Bessie Lee Jones Johnson Grisham and his step father, Mearl Grisham.

He is survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends, Phil McConn.

Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas from 6-8PM. A graveside service will be held at Belew Cemetery in Aubrey, Texas on Saturday January 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M.
