Her faith was not simply something she believed, it was her way of life.

Cindy (Snyder) Groszkiewicz, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on August 24, 1962, Cindy lived in Erie, PA before moving to Denton, TX to be a full-time grandmother. Following a transformative Cursillo experience, she felt called to a life of service. She left her position at a bank to attend Mercyhurst College, eventually becoming a Director of Religious Education, serving the Catholic communities of St. Luke Parish and Blessed Sacrament Parish in Erie. She later became Office Manager at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, in Edinboro, PA.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Hubert (Rusty) Snyder, and her brother, Jeff.

She leaves behind the love of her life, her husband, Paul, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage, and two daughters, Missy (George) and Amy (Ken), and her beloved granddaughter, Clara. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia, her sister, Brenda (Pat) and brother, Greg (Vicky), as well as several cherished in-laws, nieces and nephews, and countless friends whose lives were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Cindy was a true artist, showcasing her creativity through painting, pottery, Bible journaling and more. She was a life-long learner, teaching herself to play many instruments and crochet; she proved that you’re never too old to learn something new. At Robson Ranch, she became affectionately known as the “Mahjong Queen” after starting the Messy American Mahjong Club, which quickly grew to more than 140 members. What began as a game became a community because of Cindy’s ability to bring people together. She welcomed everyone, taught with patience, laughed easily, and made people feel that they belonged.

Cindy lived with a deep faith and an unwavering love for her God, her family and those around her. Her faith was not simply something she believed, it was her way of life, and she shared it through her work, her art, her relationships, and the way she cared for others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

A service will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, Denton, TX, on Friday, August 14 beginning with the rosary at 10am, followed by funeral mass at 10:30am. Luncheon will immediately follow. A private burial will take place on a later date.
