Obituary

Cynthia Ann Hassell, 72, of Krum, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 16, 2021. She was born in Denton, Texas to Leonard and DeAlva (Hendricks) Harris on August 25, 1948.

Cynthia attended Denton schools growing up and on November 1 of 1966, she married the love of her life, Woodrow "Wayne" Hassell. She and Wayne went on to have a son Jeremy, and two daughters, Amy and Kammy. She served as church secretary for Shady Shores Baptist Church prior to her illness.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and DeAlva Harris and her brother, Dewayne Harris. Cynthia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Hassell, son Jeremy and his wife Renee, daughters, Kammy Sears and her husband Mike and Amy Dixon and her husband, Ed, her sister Karen Davis and her husband, Ben. She is also survived by her 5 grandsons, Jacob Dixon, Jace Hassell, Clay Sears, Blake Hassell and Micah Dixon. Her family meant the world to her.

Visitation will be held at her home church, Gracepointe Church, which is located at 3000 E McKinney St. in Denton, Texas, on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10AM. A Celebration of Life will also be at Gracepointe, starting at 11AM with Pastor Dave Smith officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park, also in Denton. Pallbearers will be Jacob Dixon, Micah Dixon, Clay Sears, Jace Hassell, Blake Hassell and Steve Workman.

As an alternative to flowers, you may direct your memorials to Gracepointe Church in her honor.
