Obituary

Cynthia D. Williams Drapo was born in Frisco City, AL on February 17, 1957 and was called to heaven on Monday, January 29, 2024.


She moved to Mobile, AL with her family in 1967, where she and her family united with Mt. Olive #1 Baptist Church.

She is a graduate of Toulminville High School, Class of 1975 in Mobile, AL.  After graduating high school , she attended the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL and received a Business of Science Degree in Marketing.

She started her professional career in retail and marketing at Dillard's in Mobile, AL. She transferred to Dallas Ft. Worth with Macy's where she quickly excelled as a sales and marketing specialist. She was adored by her clients, who would often consult with her for the latest styles and fashions. Cynthia loved her career and demonstrated expertise in employee coaching, not only did she manage her staff, she also showed a sincere interest in their growth and development as professionals and human beings.

After retiring from Macy's, she enjoyed her hobbies which included gardening, reading and shopping.  Cynthia dedicated her time volunteering and helping others. Her outgoing vivacious personality was contagious, she loved the Lord and loved life.


She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband of 8 years, Charles Drapo, Sr.

She is survived by three devoted sisters, Edna Douglas (Robert) Davis, Julia (Clarence) Hudson and Mae Cunningham, all of Mobile, AL; Two nephews, Reshaun (Heather) Hudson, Jason Douglas, all of Mobile, AL; Two nieces Vanessa (Chris) Hill, Mobile, AL, Shanta (Rev. Joe) Fields; Four great nephews and two great nieces. Three God-children, Courtney Fields, Madison Banks and Macie Banks, all of Hickory Creek, TX; a devoted cousin Sandra Rankins Billups of Garland, TX and host of cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Cynthia's life will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at New Beginnings Church, located at 1569 W. Main St. in Lewisville, Texas 75067 at 2:00 PM.
