Since his dad had served in the Navy, Dale became known affectionately as "Little Skipper" as a child, a name in which everyone came to know him. A graduate of Denton High School, he later joined the army, service 18 months in Germany. Skipper was a carpenter in his early years and later worked for the U.S. Postal Service, a career he continued until his retirement.
Skipper "Skip" had lots of friends in his Aubrey neighborhood. He was known as a humble man and a good person to have as a friend. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge and the VFW. If you knew Skipper well, you probably have lots of great memories, especially from his younger days. You could find him at the Elks Lodge of VFW enjoying a cool beverage with his friends. He enjoyed cruising in the Caribbean Sea. He also loved sitting out on his front porch reading a book and watching the traffic go by.
Skip was always looking for a new recipe. He loved baking his delicious cinnamon rolls. He enjoyed growing plants from tiny seeds and watching them grow. In the fall, you'd find him watching his favorite football team the Kansas City Chiefs. Skip will be greatly missed by many, but his memory will live on. We love him and are glad he has no more pain and no more suffering.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Gail Kay and Deborah Graham Elliott.
He is survived by his most beloved friend Margie Hilliard of Denton, niece Debbie Elliot Wilkerson and her husband Jeff and four great nieces and nephews.+
