Daniel Glenn
Maynard
August 18, 1998 – September 30, 2019
Daniel Glenn Maynard, 21, of Argyle, Texas, passed away on September 30, 2019 in Argyle. He was born on August 18, 1998 in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to Jason and Sierra (Cotton) Maynard.
Daniel was a vibrant, kind, loving boy growing up as a Military Brat. His passions in his younger days included geology, baseball and friends. He loved helping people, playing games and creating. At age 8 he discovered what would become his life-long passion: Music, particularly the saxophone. In middle school, the family moved to the Denton area and he trained and marched with the Argyle High School Band, winning 2 state titles. More recently, he marched with WGI and was an active member of NCTC's Jazz Band and would be found playing his Sax anywhere he could. He was attending NCTC, where he was to earn his associates in December. For 7 years, he worked as an umpire for recreational softball, which he considered more fun than work.
Daniel was kind, loving, understanding, generous, and weirdly expressive. He would do nearly anything for a laugh and was quick with a smile or silly movie quote. Daniel shared caring, laughter and love with everyone in his life, and enjoyed making everyone near him feel accepted and loved.
Daniel is survived by his mother and father, sister, Bailey Maynard, brother, SrA Lee Maynard grand-parents, Debbie "Mimi" Maynard, JoAnn Cotton, Eddie and Louann Maynard, and Gay Cotton, and great-grandparents, Wanda Austin and T. Allene Cotton.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael H. Cotton.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2019 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Denton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
