IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Patrick
Wojciak
March 17, 1965 – December 10, 2024
Daniel Patrick Wojciak passed away in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born in Parma, Ohio on March 17, 1965, to Edward and Geraldine Wojciak.
After graduating from Parma High School, he moved to Arlington, Texas where he attended the University of Texas at Arlington on a full athletic scholarship. He was a member of the men's basketball team for all four years, and scored over 1,000 points during his collegiate career. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in 1988.
Dan met the love of his life, Page Smithers, in 1983 while attending UTA. They married in 1985, and moved to Krum, Texas where they raised their two children, Dani and Caz. Shortly after Caz was born, Dan suffered a brain tumor and required surgery. While the prognosis was grim, he overcame all odds through rehab and his stubborn, can-do attitude. He might have been in a wheel chair, but that did not stop him from living his life to the fullest.
Dan went on to work at Walmart on Loop 288 in Denton, Texas. He started as a door greeter in the garden section, where he made countless friends. He later worked as an associate in the garden center, always lending a helping hand. A dedicated and hardworking employee, he celebrated 26 years there on December 8, 2024. Walmart will not be the same without his friendly face.
Dan loved to hunt and fish, spend time with his family outside by the grill, the game of basketball, Buckeye football in the fall, and a cold beer after mowing the lawn. He shared his love of sports by coaching Dani, Caz, and many of their friends and teammates. He touched many lives throughout the years, both on and off the court.
He recently shared his daughter's passion for traveling and live music. Dan attended many concerts, festivals, and any event featuring Charley Crockett. He truly loved children and spending time with his nieces, nephews, and their children.
Dan will be missed every day by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband and father, a fiercely loyal friend, and a loving son and brother. He always met you with a smile, and left you leaving with one.
