Obituary

A final farewell was said as Dannie Lou (Lake) Taylor transitioned from this Earthly plane to God's Heavenly realm on the morning of August 30, 2017. Dannie Lou was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on December 3, 1933 to Daniel Eugene Lake and Maze Jones Lake.

She was raised in Hobbs and received her diploma from Hobbs High even though the family moved to Dallas, Texas before the end of her senior year in 1950. After attending SMU for a brief time, Dannie Lou met her soul mate, Marvin Monroe Taylor and they married at Lakeside Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas on June 26, 1953. In 1960, Dannie Lou and Marvin moved to the Spring Branch area of Houston with their three children, Alan Monroe, Amelia (Amy) Lou and Andrea Gene.

In 1966, they all moved to the Oak Ridge North area north of Houston, Texas. She was involved with the Conroe ISD PTA organizations, the Northwest Woman's Club, Emmanuel United Church, Spring, Texas, the local Square Dance Club and worked with several banks in Spring and Magnolia, Texas.

In 1977, Dannie Lou and Marvin moved to Magnolia, Texas and she later worked with the Playtex and DanMar Sales companies. Several more moves included the Denton, Tyler, Lago Vista and Cedar Park areas of Texas.

After her beloved Marvin died in 2010, Dannie Lou moved back to Denton, Texas to be near her daughter, Amy. Dannie Lou was a very spiritual person who tried to spread God's Love and Light to everyone she met. It was especially in her latter years around other senior friends in her senior apartment complex, that she would share this gift.

Dannie Lou is survived by her son, Alan M. Taylor and wife Liz, daughters,  Amelia (Amy) L. Hope and husband Steve, Andrea G. Febbo and husband Ken, grandchildren, Andrew Hope and wife Margaret, Justin Sechrist and wife Megan, Kyle Taylor and wife Christine, Rebecca Hope, Laura Febbo and fiancé Jamie Powers, Kacie Febbo, brother, C. Eugene Lake and wife Susan, nephew, Chris Lake and wife Katherine, niece, Sarah Wallace and husband, Dave, great nieces and nephew: Madeline, Benjamin, Ainsley Lake and Meagan Wallace and many cousins in Texas and Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin, parents, Daniel and Maze Lake, daughter-in-law, Donna Taylor and one grandson, Kevin M. Taylor.

Dannie Lou's wishes were for her to be cremated and at a later date the family is to scatter hers and Marvin's ashes in the redwoods of Northern California.
