Danny Lee Barron, 65, of Ponder, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in Dallas. He was born July 6, 1950 in San Angelo to Harold Barron and Viola Copeland Barron and grew up traveling as a military family. He joined the Army at 18 to serve his country honorably as a helicopter crew chief. He bravely served three tours in the Vietnam War. He met the love of his life in Germany while in the military & married Annamarie Fedora on December 29, 1971. He loved and adored her with all his might. They settled down in Ponder, TX to live a quiet life raising two children. He worked for Solar Turbines for 35 years with dedication and loyalty. He loved what he did there as an overhaul technician but mostly he loved teaching new employees. He took to teaching everything he knew and loved to his beloved friends and family. His favorite past time and skills to teach others was cooking, BBQ cook-offs and competitions. He was a member of IBCA & LSBS Cookers associations. He created the Texas Rib Wranglers cooking team and taught his team passion and skills to win various cook-off awards. Although they won and lost many cook-offs the real value was in the time spent together laughing and creating memories. These memories will be remembered by many because Danny touched lives in a loving unforgettable way. Smoking Horns BBQ (his favorite pupils) will relive many memories cooking his recipes as he would have loved.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 at the Cowboy Church in Ponder at 2PM.
