Danny Louis Holyfield, 72, of Denton, Texas passed away on January 2, 2024, in Denton, Texas. He was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to Ardist and Wanda (Webster) Holyfield.
Our Daddy loved playing with model trains, taking a day trip or driving around with you anywhere you wanted to take him. He drove for FedEx for 21 years, but he enjoyed driving tractor trailers much longer than that. Danny loved a good adventure movie, anything about bigfoot or dinosaurs. He loved singing, whether he was in a gospel quartet, a choir, or in the car. He loved trying out new restaurants while "running errands" with Bobby.
Danny loved spending time with family, whether it was special movie nights, listening to records, playing games, barbecuing or gardening, fishing, raising chickens, telling stories about his life, and blowing bubbles.
All of these things he would do with our mom, Linda, the love of his life, one of us girls or Bobby or more importantly with his granddaughters. He enjoyed spending time with them the most.
He loved so many more things, but out of all the things our Daddy loved most, he loved talking and sharing about his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He would tell anyone about what the Lord had done for him, how he had saved him and changed his life. How the Lord could save you too.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Holyfield of Denton, Texas, daughters, Wanda Holyfield of Denton, Texas, Joanna Brashear, and her husband, Robert of Denton, sister, Traci Kaman of North Carolina, grandchildren, Amy Brashear, Ainsley Brashear, and Ava Brashear. As well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, sister, Linda Berriman, brothers, Ardist Holyfield, Jr., John Holyfield, and granddaughter, Anna Brashear.
The family will receive friends, on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 12:30 - 1:30 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
