Danny Lynn Platt's Obituary

Danny Lynn Platt passed away Saturday evening, January 12, 2019 in Sanger.  He was born in Terrell, TX to Homer Jack Platt and Anna Margaret Jones Platt.

After he graduated from High School, he joined the UA Air Force from March 15, 1968 to August 6, 1973. He specialized in Electric Equipment Systems and Communications.

Danny retired from McBride Music and Pawn where he worked for over 20 years.  He was an avid golfer, a true Dallas cowboy's fan, and gun enthusiast.  He loved all sports, and besides golf, enjoyed playing softball, and going fishing. He loved Budlight, Peanut M&M's, Jolly Ranchers, starched Wrangler's and boots, Chicken Fried Steak, Fox News, and, American History & "The Cowboy".

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton.

Dan is survived by Kerry Platt (Weiser) and their son Connor "Buddy" Platt of Sanger and sons, Greg (Shannon) of Wichita KS, Cato (Danielle) of Brownwood. Also surviving, are sisters, Patti (Brad) Bailey and Elizabeth Foster of Sanger, aunts, Lorraine Platt of Denton, Darlene Horn of Flower Mound, Rosemary Smith of The Colony, his grandchildren, April, Kaelyn, Madelyn, Kirra and Danilynn and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Platt, uncle, Bill Allen Platt, father, Homer Jack Platt, stepmother, Rose Marie Platt (Trietsch), mother Anna Margaret Cato (Jones) and stepfather, Robert Cato.

A special heart felt Thank-You from Danny's family to the many caregivers at Redbird Manor in Sanger for taking such good care of Dan these past few years, and, also to it's residents for providing oversight and companionship to Dan as well!
