Danny K. Reid, 64, of Shady Shores, Texas passed away on October 20, 2015 and entered into the presence of the Lord.
Danny was born in Dallas, Texas to Emma Jane Hamby and Richard Lee Reid. Danny graduated from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M Commerce, with Degrees in Physics, Psychology, and Radio and Television Communications. Danny completed course work towards his Masters in Physics, but not his thesis.
Danny was a natural leader. He was very active in student government at ETSU. Danny served as chairman of the Shady Shores Planning and Zoning Commission for several years.
Danny loved all things technical and mechanical. Danny worked in engineering, robotics, and machine inspection, the design and building of computer networks, and internet security and auditing. He worked for international corporations, consulting houses, and as an independent contractor. At the time of his death he was a Professional Information Security Consultant. Danny was a man of tremendous integrity and honesty.
Danny enjoyed many hobbies, including music, motorcycles, Italian cars, sailing, & building robots.
Danny was lucky to have found his perfect partner in life, his wife Terry. They embarked on many great travel adventures together. Danny and Terry were blessed to celebrate 25 years of marriage.
Danny was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Denton. He served as volunteer, lector and usher. He was a member of the Third and Fourth Degree Councils of the Knights of Columbus, and was Faithful Navigator at the time of his death.
Danny is preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, and brother-in-law Jerome Fey. He is survived by wife Theresa Fey Reid; brother Michael L Reid (wife Reita) of Belize; mother-in-law Martha Fey of Magnolia, TX; sister-in-law Catherine Smith (husband James) of Magnolia, TX; brother-in-law James Fey (wife Janice) of Cedar Park, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 29 from 5:00 – 8:00pm, with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 pm, at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors Denton, TX. The funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 30 at 1:30 pm at St. Mark Catholic Church Denton, TX. Interment will be Saturday, October 31 at 12:30 pm at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery New Braunfels, TX.
