IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darlene
Mcnatt
March 4, 1945 – September 17, 2023
Darlene Hodges McNatt, 78, of Argyle, Texas passed away on September 17, 2023, in Denton, Texas. She was born in Bay City, Texas on March 4, 1945, to Wilson and Fran Hodges.
Darlene graduated from Overton High School and attended Kilgore Junior College where she was a Kilgore Rangerette. She attended UNT where she met the love of her life, Al McNatt. They were married June 29, 1968 and made their home in Denton. She taught school for a short period of time but then decided it was time to start a family. Darlene had two wonderful sons, Lock and Ryder and she loved them very much. Later, she enjoyed volunteering as a Hospice Grief Counselor alongside Linda McNatt, where they used their gift to encourage the elderly and her giftedness to decorate their tables for lunch. She developed beautiful, lifelong friendships over the years of her life through church, The Rangerettes, her Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, Ariel Club, and Bible Studies.
Darlene enjoyed, making time for visiting, traveling, golf, shopping, beautifying her garden, the beach, and was gifted at doing interior design. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends, family, and spoiling her children and grandchildren. She was always ready to love, encourage, pray for others, and meet their needs. Darlene's faith in Jesus Christ was evident to all that knew her as she continued to praise and lift up His name for 14 years during her battle with cancer. Darlene was known as a prayer warrior for everyone, her kindness, generous heart, and for her desire to serve others. She was very intentional about leaving her legacy for Christ with us all…and she did just that. She will be very missed by everyone that got to meet her but we rest assured knowing that she is now whole, and fully healed praising her Savior…Jesus Christ our Lord.
She is survived by her husband, Al McNatt of Argyle, sons, Lock McNatt and wife Afton of Baton Rouge, La., and Ryder McNatt and wife Heather of Coppell, Tx., sister, Cindy Hodges Bell of Seguin, Tx., and her grandchildren Allie, Avery, Ainsley, Cole and Joley.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother, Dr. Larry Hodges.
