Darrell G. Reid, Sr., 87, of Denton, Texas, passed away August 30th, 2012. He was born in Bedias, Texas February 24, 1925. During his 87 years he served in the United States Navy aboard ship in the South Pacific. He received a business degree from Sam Houston University. His sales career with National Gypsum spanned 30 years, serving in Houston, San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Dallas where he retired. He later joined International Building Products in Montreal, Canada, traveling the United States as National Sales Manager. He became a member of Texas First Families, an exclusive organization. He is survived by his two sons, Darrell and Ryan Reid, and Ryan's son Beckham Eli. His final years were spent in Denton, Texas.

Visitation in Denton will be on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 2:00-4:00 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be in Madisonville at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 2, 2012 with a visitation from 1-2 pm prior to service at Madisonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Madisonville City Cemetery.
