After a courageous 2-year battle with brain cancer, Daryl James Gorup, 67, of Boerne, Texas, passed away on Saturday December 17, 2016, at 3:26 AM.  He was surrounded by his, his beloved wife and three children, as he passed peacefully to the other side.

Daryl was born on April 25, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Frank and Ann Gorup.  On June 6, 1970, he married the love of his life, Susan Tokarski Gorup.  He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1971.  Beginning his career in trucking with International Harvester, he later worked for Peterbilt Motors.  His career culminated in his ultimate role as the Senior Vice President in charge of dealership operations for Rush Enterprises. He happily retired in 2014.

Daryl was an avid hunter and fisherman; and he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his children and grandchildren in his free time.

Daryl is survived by his loving wife Susan; his children Amie Peace, Matthew Gorup and his wife Susan Gorup, and Andrew Gorup; his grandchildren Jackson Peace, Shelby Hurst, and Taylor Graybeal; and one great grandchild Logan Graybeal; his sisters Marlene Davis and Carol Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his father Frank Gorup and his mother Ann Gorup.

Viewing is scheduled for Tuesday, December 27, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bill De Berry Funeral Directors facility in Denton, Texas, and is open to all who wish to express their love and offer a final farewell.  Services will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
