CWO-4 David (Bud) Bly, U.S.N., retired, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was born on March 11, 1919 in Clarksville, Arkansas to Zack and Rena Bly.
He is survived by two sons, David and wife Barbara, and Ron and wife Carol; grandchildren, Robyn and husband Mike Deprizio, Kristina Bly, Laurie and husband Brian Baldwin, Heather and husband Chris Nusbaum, and Paul Bly; and great grandchildren, Ashley, Shane, Cain, Nathon, and Scarlett. Bud is also survived by brothers, Bill Bly, Tom Bly, and Jim Bly; and sisters, Lavada Casey and Barbara Pharris. He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; and his parents.
Bud served in WWII on submarines and received the Bronze Star with Valor. He loved his God, his country, and his family. He will be missed.
The family would like to express our love and gratitude to Violet Neff-Helms for the many years of faithful devotion to Bud and Peggy as their health declined.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 6-8 pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
